About Steppin' Out 

- Under new ownership and management by Mike Smith and Priscilla Brooks as of July 2003,  Steppin' Out's vision is to be "the" premier spot for dancing and dining in the Tidewater area, supporting a variety of music and dance styles and providing karaoke (separate karaoke room) seven nights a week.  

- On Mondays shag dance lessons are provided by top local dance instructors--lessons range from beginner through advanced.

- On Tuesdays Texas Hold 'Em Poker provided by A.C.E.S. Places Poker League.  Doors open at 6 PM, tournaments at 7 and 10 PM--nightly prizes!

- On Wednesdays the Virginia Beach Shag Club has a weekly social with a local or guest DJ playing the latest hits from the top 40s Beach Music billboard.  Free dance lessons start the evening.  There are drawings for door prizes and a 50-50 raffle.  Attendance is not limited to shag club members.

- On Thursdays a variety of rock music is presented--not every Thursday, so check the Calendar for details

- On Fridays a "top of the line" Beach Music band plays to the enjoyment of a packed house--typical bands include Bill Deal's Rhondels, Coolin' Out, North Tower, Main Event, and The Entertainers.

- On Saturdays it's Country Rock with popular Country Rock bands!

- The separate karaoke room provides thousands of choices of karaoke in all musical aspects seven nights a week.  There's also pool, foosball, and darts--dart league on Mondays and Thursdays

- Once a month (normally on the first Sunday) the Virginia Beach Shag Club holds a monthly social which starts with a free dance lesson, followed by open dancing and a buffet style meal for all attendees.

- Periodically (about every two months) on Sunday afternoons, Tidewater Beach Music fans are treated to the likes of bands such as The Embers, Band of Oz, and The Coastline Band playing to a packed house and a crowded dance floor.

- When there isn't a Beach Music special band on Sunday, there will most likely be a rock band--Steppin' Out's goal is to offer a broad spectrum of musical entertainment--the best in Virginia Beach!
